HOW TO DO JUMP ROPE
- Hold the handles lightly with elbows close to the sides and the rope behind the feet.
- Turn it primarily with small wrist circles and make low, relaxed jumps from the balls of the feet as the rope passes underneath.
- Land softly with knees slightly bent, keep the torso tall, and maintain a steady rhythm instead of lifting the knees high or sweeping the arms wide.
- Jumping rope develops coordination and repeated lower-leg stiffness while providing scalable cardiovascular work.
- Begin with short intervals and single bounces, use supportive footwear and a forgiving, clear surface, and increase duration gradually to manage calf, Achilles-tendon, and foot loading.
