High Knees

Weight × reps · Time

Avoid pounding the floor or chasing maximum knee height after posture and cadence deteriorate. Marching high knees are a lower-impact regression; increase cadence or interval length gradually, using knee height as a repeatable target rather than assuming higher is always better.

HOW TO DO HIGH KNEES

  1. Stand tall on a clear, non-slip surface and run in place with quick, light contacts.
  2. Drive each knee toward a height you can reach without leaning backward, coordinating the opposite arm, and land under your center of mass.
  3. Keep your trunk tall and breathe rhythmically.
