HOW TO DO DEAD HANG
- Use a secure bar you can reach and leave safely, grip it overhand, and let your body hang with arms long and feet clear or lightly supported.
- Breathe and allow the shoulders to elevate within a comfortable range while keeping your grip deliberate.
- Avoid jumping to a slippery bar, hanging through sharp shoulder pain, or staying until your hands unexpectedly open.
- Use foot support or shorter holds to reduce load; add time gradually or alternate with an active hang.
- Hanging loads the grip and shoulders, but any feeling of spinal relief is temporary and should not be described as guaranteed decompression.
