HOW TO DO APE WALK
- Begin in a comfortable low squat with hands ready near the floor.
- Reach both hands to one side, transfer weight through the arms, and make a small lateral hop or step with the feet so the body follows.
- Continue sideways or vary the direction while keeping each hand placement deliberate and the landing soft.
- The ape walk combines loaded squat mobility, shoulder support, trunk control, and whole-body coordination rather than targeting one muscle.
- Use a higher squat and stepping version before hopping, keep fingers spread and wrists comfortable, and move only on a dry, clear surface.
- Stop when the hips, knees, wrists, or shoulders can no longer accept the range smoothly.
