HOW TO DO TYPEWRITER PULL-UP
- Use a wide overhand grip and pull the upper chest toward one hand.
- Remain near the top as you glide horizontally toward the other hand, gradually straightening the first arm and bending the second.
- Travel back or lower from that side according to the chosen repetition pattern.
- Keep the shoulders depressed, both hands secure, and the trunk controlled rather than swinging beneath the bar.
- The typewriter pull-up holds a demanding top range while shifting most of the load between arms, challenging the back, biceps, forearms, and grip.
- Master archer and chest-to-bar pull-ups first; use assistance or a smaller lateral range if you cannot move smoothly.
