HOW TO DO TYPEWRITER PULL-UP

  1. Use a wide overhand grip and pull the upper chest toward one hand.
  2. Remain near the top as you glide horizontally toward the other hand, gradually straightening the first arm and bending the second.
  3. Travel back or lower from that side according to the chosen repetition pattern.
  4. Keep the shoulders depressed, both hands secure, and the trunk controlled rather than swinging beneath the bar.
  5. The typewriter pull-up holds a demanding top range while shifting most of the load between arms, challenging the back, biceps, forearms, and grip.
  6. Master archer and chest-to-bar pull-ups first; use assistance or a smaller lateral range if you cannot move smoothly.
