HOW TO DO FLEXED-ARM HANG

  1. Use a box or assistance to reach the top of a pull-up with the chin clear of the bar and the chest lifted.
  2. Remove the support only after establishing a firm grip, then hold with elbows bent, shoulders down, trunk braced, and neck neutral.
  3. Breathe steadily and avoid resting the chin on the bar.
  4. When the position begins to fall, lower under control or return to the step rather than dropping.
  5. The flexed-arm hang develops isometric endurance in the back, elbow flexors, forearms, and grip at a specific joint angle.
  6. Accumulate short quality holds and vary angles if broader strength is the goal.
