Archer Pull-Up — back compound exercise in the LIFTAG library

Archer Pull-Up

Compound · Weight × reps

The archer pull-up shifts more of the vertical pulling demand to one side while the long arm assists, training the back, biceps, forearms, and grip as a one-arm progression. First master strict pull-ups, and use band assistance or a smaller side shift if you cannot control the descent.

HOW TO DO ARCHER PULL-UP

  1. Take a wide overhand grip and begin from an active hang.
  2. Pull the chest toward one hand while bending that elbow and allowing the opposite arm to straighten along the bar.
  3. Keep both hands gripping, the shoulders controlled, and the trunk from swinging or twisting excessively.
  4. Lower to centre under control and alternate sides or complete equal repetitions per arm.
