Smith Machine Bent-Over Row — back compound exercise in the LIFTAG library

Smith Machine Bent-Over Row

Compound · Weight × reps

Unhook the bar and row it toward the upper abdomen or waist by driving the elbows back, then lower to straight arms without losing the hip position. The bent-over Smith row trains the latissimus, rhomboids, trapezius, posterior deltoids, biceps, and forearms while the spinal extensors hold the hinge. Rails constrain the bar path but do not remove balance or lower-back demands. Test stance and torso position unloaded, avoid jerking, and choose a load you can re-hook securely.
