Skater Jump

Compound · Weight × reps · Time

Land softly on the whole foot with the knee aligned over the toes, hips back, and trunk controlled. Let the free leg travel behind for balance without using it to catch the floor unless needed. Skater jumps develop lateral power and single-leg deceleration through the glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings, calves, and hip stabilizers. Begin with side steps or small bounds, use a dry clear surface, and end the set when the landing foot collapses, the knee moves inward, or balance requires an extra step.

HOW TO DO SKATER JUMP

  1. Stand on one leg, load the hip and knee, and push sideways to jump onto the opposite leg.
  2. Hold the landing before jumping back; distance matters less than control.
