Scapular Pull-Up — back isolation exercise in the LIFTAG library

Scapular Pull-Up

Isolation · Weight × reps

Without bending the arms, draw the shoulder blades down and allow the chest to rise slightly, moving from a relaxed hang into an active hang. The range is small; avoid turning it into a partial pull-up, arching the lower back, or forcing the shoulder blades together. Scapular pull-ups train shoulder-girdle control and the muscles that initiate a strict pull, including the lower trapezius and latissimus. Use feet-supported assistance if a full hang is uncomfortable, and work only within a pain-free overhead range.
