HOW TO DO SMITH MACHINE INCLINE PRESS

  1. Centre an incline bench beneath the Smith bar at a modest angle and set the safety stops below the planned bottom position.
  2. Lie with feet planted and shoulder blades set, take an even grip, and test where the bar meets the upper-to-mid chest.
  3. Unhook it, lower with wrists stacked over forearms, and press along the rails to straight arms without bouncing or losing bench contact.
  4. Confirm alignment with an empty bar, use a spotter and safeties, and choose a depth that remains comfortable for the shoulders.
