HOW TO DO PLANK SHOULDER TAP
- Hold a high plank with hands under the shoulders and feet set wide enough for balance, then brace the trunk and glutes.
- Shift weight smoothly into one hand and tap the opposite shoulder with the free hand.
- Replace it quietly and alternate without letting the pelvis rotate, rise, or sag.
- The plank shoulder tap challenges anti-rotation trunk control while the supporting shoulder, chest, and triceps stabilize the body.
- Move more slowly rather than chasing repetitions.
- Narrowing the feet increases the balance demand; widening them or elevating the hands reduces it, while a static plank is appropriate if you cannot maintain a stable body line.
