L-Sit

Time

The isometric hold trains the abdominals, hip flexors, triceps, and shoulder-girdle depression, while hamstring mobility can limit the position. Accumulate short, clean holds. Bent-knee tuck holds, one-leg extensions, or raised handles are appropriate regressions before a full floor L-sit.

HOW TO DO L-SIT

  1. Sit between stable parallettes or place your hands on the floor beside the hips.
  2. Press the shoulders down, straighten the elbows, and lift the hips while extending both legs forward so the body forms an L shape.
  3. Keep the chest tall, knees straight, and toes pointed or ankles neutral without holding your breath.
