Decline Push-Up

Compound · Weight × reps

Form a rigid line from ankles to head, brace, and lower the chest between the hands while keeping the elbows at a comfortable angle. Elevating the feet increases the load borne by the upper body and generally raises the shoulder-flexion demand compared with a floor push-up; the chest, triceps, shoulders, and trunk all contribute.

HOW TO DO DECLINE PUSH-UP

  1. Place the feet on a stable bench or box and the hands on the floor slightly wider than shoulder width.
  2. Press back to straight arms without sagging at the hips or leading with the chin.
  3. Start with a low platform, use a non-slip setup, and reduce the height if shoulder or wrist control is compromised.
