Tuck-Up — abs isolation exercise in the LIFTAG library

Tuck-Up

Isolation · Weight × reps · Time

The tuck-up combines spinal flexion with hip flexion, training the abdominals and hip flexors through a shorter lever than a straight-leg V-up. Exhale as you close, keep the neck relaxed, and reduce the reach or place the hands beside the hips if you cannot control the extended position.

HOW TO DO TUCK-UP

  1. Lie on your back with arms and legs extended just above the floor, or begin with them resting down for an easier version.
  2. Brace, then simultaneously curl the torso and draw the knees toward the chest, balancing briefly on the pelvis in a compact tuck.
  3. Extend the limbs again under control without letting the lower back arch or dropping them heavily.
