Smith Machine Split Squat — quadriceps compound exercise in the LIFTAG library

Smith Machine Split Squat

Compound · Weight × reps

Put the rear foot on the bench and front foot where the rail path allows a balanced descent. The Smith rear-foot-elevated split squat trains the front-leg quadriceps and glutes with reduced balance demand, but heavy loading is not automatically appropriate. Test bench and foot position unloaded, ensure the bench cannot slide, use stops, and avoid repositioning beneath the loaded bar.
