Reverse Crunch — abs isolation exercise in the LIFTAG library

Reverse Crunch

Isolation · Weight × reps · Time

Think of shortening the distance between pelvis and rib cage rather than throwing the knees toward the face. The reverse crunch trains the rectus abdominis through spinal and pelvic flexion; it does not isolate a separate “lower abs” muscle. Reduce the range if momentum takes over.

HOW TO DO REVERSE CRUNCH

  1. Lie on your back with hips and knees bent, feet off the floor, and arms resting beside you or holding a stable support.
  2. Brace the abdomen and curl the pelvis toward the ribs, lifting the tailbone slightly without swinging the legs.
  3. Pause, then lower the pelvis slowly until it returns to the floor while keeping the movement controlled.
