Incline Dumbbell Fly — chest isolation exercise in the LIFTAG library

Incline Dumbbell Fly

Isolation · Weight × reps

Contract the pectorals to bring the weights back over the chest without turning the movement into a press. The incline fly trains shoulder horizontal adduction, primarily through the pectoralis major with anterior-shoulder assistance; it does not isolate only the clavicular fibres. Use substantially less load than for pressing, avoid dropping into an extreme stretch, and choose a range that keeps the front of the shoulder stable.
