HOW TO DO HANDSTAND WALK
- Enter a balanced freestanding handstand in a clear area with straight elbows and active, tall shoulders.
- Make small weight shifts from one hand to the other as each hand takes a short step.
- Let the shoulders and hands travel beneath the centre of mass while the trunk and legs remain controlled.
- Look between the hands rather than throwing the head forward.
- Handstand walking is an advanced balance skill that demands wrist tolerance, shoulder and triceps endurance, spatial awareness, and a practised bailout.
- First master stable wall and freestanding holds, shoulder taps, and short controlled steps, then train on a forgiving surface and stop before alignment or hand placement deteriorates.
