Bodyweight Reverse Lunge — quadriceps compound exercise in the LIFTAG library

Bodyweight Reverse Lunge

Compound · Weight × reps

Push through the front foot to bring the rear leg forward and return to standing, then alternate or complete one side. The reverse lunge trains the quadriceps and glutes with help from the hamstrings and requires balance and hip control. Some people find stepping backward comfortable, but it is not universally “knee-friendly.” Adjust stride length and depth to your mobility, keep the pelvis level, and use support if balance changes knee alignment.
