Headstand Hold — shoulders exercise in the LIFTAG library

Headstand Hold

Time

Load the hands and shoulders actively, tuck the knees, and lift the hips before extending the legs only when balance is controlled. A headstand is an inversion and balance skill, not a neck-strength test. Learn under qualified supervision, begin with feet supported and short holds, avoid kicking up, and do not attempt it when neck problems, relevant medical restrictions, or an unsafe landing area are present.

HOW TO DO HEADSTAND HOLD

  1. Set up on a padded surface near a wall with the crown of the head and hands forming a stable tripod, or use a properly taught forearm variation.
  2. Keep substantial pressure in the arms rather than collapsing body weight into the neck, breathe, and exit by reversing the steps.
