HOW TO DO SCAPULAR PUSH-UP
- Hold a high plank with hands under the shoulders, elbows straight, and the body aligned from head to heels.
- Without bending the elbows, allow the shoulder blades to glide gently toward each other so the chest lowers a small amount.
- Then press the floor away, spreading the shoulder blades around the rib cage without rounding through the lower back.
- The motion is short and comes from scapular retraction and protraction, not from dropping the head or hips.
- Scapular push-ups train serratus anterior and shoulder-blade control while the trunk holds the plank.
- Perform them from the knees or at a wall if full-plank posture cannot remain steady.
